In my continued efforts to start decorating more seasonally, I’ve crafted some designer inspired easter eggs! Without any kids around I felt like something cutesy and pastel would be out of place in my home decor, so I opted for black & white.
This was such a fun & simple project. All I did was draw on white faux eggs with an oil based sharpie. I wanted something a bit cheeky & fun so I used some images of Louis Vuitton & Chanel logos & art as inspiration.
The drawings and lettering are far from perfect but I don’t mind, I think it sort of adds to their charm. They’re quite girlish and fun!
See the egg with little silk bunny ears on top? She’s my favorite! Every year around easter I think of the Louis Vuitton fall 2009 bunny ears and I wanted to incorporate that. She was actually the simplest egg, read on for the tutorial.
LV Inspired Bunny Ears Egg Tutorial
- Easter eggs (faux or hardboiled)
- Fabric scraps
- Hot glue
- Sharpie (optional, for the face)
Step 1: Start with a tiny scrap of fabric, mine was about 3″ by 0.5″.
Step 2: Tie it in a knot.
Step 3: Trim it to a point to look more like ears.
Step 4: Glue to the top of your egg.
Step 5: Leave it blank or draw on some simple eyes or lips to up the cuteness factor.
These would be an easy Easter egg activity to do with many different colors of eggs, different ears, and different faces. Each one has a personality of her own!
