Happy Tuesday from Tokyo! Well, technically I’m almost a day ahead of you already 🙂 My husband and I are here on a (much needed) 2 week holiday… Follow along on Instagram & Snapchat to sneek a peek into all of our activities.
For me, the most difficult part of international travel is the time spent getting to my destination. By the time my head hit the pillow at our Air BnB, I had been awake & on the go for 24 hours… the least I could do is stay comfy! Here’s my no fail outfit formula for long days of travel (PS don’t miss my pack like a ninja tutorial):
Yoga pants in public have a time and a place, and international flights are exactly it. Pack those high waist skinny jeans in your suitcase and stick to something with a soft stretchy waistband for your flight. I decided to go full on athleisure with my travel look & wear my trouser cut yoga pants.
Chances are you’re going to be going from hot to cold several times during your travel day, and the only way to stay comfy is layers! I’m wearing a tank, a short sleeved sweatshirt, a leather jacket, and a scarf. FYI I never travel without this Lululemon scarf, it’s so soft & stretchy to cuddle up in yet easy to wash!
Slip On Shoes:
I like to wear shoes that are easy to slide on & off. Not only does it make going through security a breeze, but it also helps you get cozier during your flight. If you’re wearing sandals like I am, pack a pair of socks in your “personal item” to slip on when you take your shoes off.
There are a few other things I just can’t be without on a long flight: Headphones to enjoy some music & movies (I’m in love with these ones). My Dr. Rogers Restore to battle airplane dehydration (it doubles as a lip balm AND a cuticle cream!). Lots of snacks (because you can’t trust your layover airport for having decent food).
What are you essentials for a long flight? Anything I missed?
